Who I Am and What I Do

My Journey

I grew up in Whitebead, OK and I am Choctaw of Oklahoma. My journey to becoming a doctor has been a challenging and exciting path. Like many things in our lives my journey led me through detours, and what felt like mountains, white water rapids, and very occasionally quiet rivers.  Along my journey I had the opportunity to become a medical social worker and work in hospice care for 5 years, which was an extraordinary experience. My best teachers were my hospice patients and their families. During this time I also began to gather the courage to continue my dream of becoming a physician. I started my path at an MD program in North Dakota. Through my program, I saw my mentors becoming burnt out and frustrated with the current system of patient care. We were seeing the same people month after month, and the bottom line was they weren't getting better. What I have learned throughout my journey and my medicine trails to becoming a physician is that people are amazing and the human body is a resilient unique design. By design, we as human beings are able to withstand stressors in our lives, whether physical, environmental, psychological, or emotional. In my research of medical therapies I found naturopathic medicine. I finished my medical education in Naturopathic Medicine, and I am excited to share with you my knowledge of naturopathic medicine to help address your medical concerns and feel better. My approach to your health is a holistic one. I address the root cause of your health concern, and then we explore what is inhibiting your body from being in a healing state. My experience as a naturopathic physician, allows me to help guide you and address your concerns from several different directions to help you achieve optimal health. I look forward to working with you.

My approach to wellness consists of an individualized step by step plan that addresses your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being by combining ancient wisdom with modern practices. I emphasize on natural therapies, food as medicine, and plants as medicine.
